LYT-100 (Deupirfenidone)

Purpose and Indication: LYT-100 is primarily being studied for its effects on patients who have experienced post-acute COVID-19 symptoms, specifically those suffering from shortness of breath after hospital discharge. The eligibility criteria include any form of oxygen use, and patients must enroll within 90 days of their original COVID diagnosis unless they were intubated, in which case the enrollment window extends by an additional six weeks.
2. Study Design: The clinical study aims to evaluate the effect of LYT-100 on the distance walked during a six-minute walk test, adhering to guidelines set forth by the American Thoracic Society and European Respiratory Society. Participants receive either LYT-100 or placebo capsules twice daily for a duration of 91 days, followed by an open-label extension for an additional 90 days.
3. Current Status: As of now, the global enrollment goal has been reached; however, the sponsor seeks an additional ten subjects from the U.S. to ensure adequate data regarding quality of life can be captured.

LYT-310 (Oral Cannabidiol)

1. Purpose and Indication: LYT-310 is another investigational product that represents an oral formulation of cannabidiol (CBD). This formulation aims to enhance the bioavailability of CBD compared to unmodified forms, potentially expanding its therapeutic applications across various age groups and conditions.
2. Mechanism and Benefits: Preclinical studies have shown that LYT-310 can achieve three to four times greater oral bioavailability than traditional CBD formulations. This increased absorption may lead to improved safety profiles and reduced gastrointestinal side effects commonly associated with CBD treatments.
